It has been a year since I purchased my camera and started my love affair with photography. Three hundred and sixty-six days (it was a leap year, folks) and 8628 photos later, and here I am again. That's an average of 23 photos per day. The top number of photos taken in one day? 1061. Its a good thing I chose digital.
It has been a completely whirlwind year. This final year in Saskatoon has been the hardest, most frustrating and most rewarding year of my life. It has been high highs and low lows, and lots of long hours in between. And seated in the midst of all of this has been my photos. I have loved every minute of it.
I am scheduled to leave this place soon. After four years in Saskatoon, I am east-bound in two short months. 30 days of which I will spend with my more westerly neighbours. I have come to appreciate this place, and love its raw beauty and peculiar quirks. A deep part of me is going to miss this place in a deep and profound way. I think it is because I have discovered Saskatoon through the lens of my camera, and my love for each will always be connected. Somehow I have grown to call this eastern, flat land of the living skies my home.
To commemorate my year of photos, I have pulled together some of my favorite shots. There have been so many, but this is a small clip of some of the best. So here it is. A year in review.
